Born in Casablanca (Morocco) in 1986, Villa Albertine resident Hicham Berrada is a photographer and plastic artist. Nurtured by a dual artistic and scientific background, Berrada creates videos, installations and performances based on a combination of intuition and knowledge, science and poetry.

Hicham Berrada will be in conversation at the Villa with poet Matthew Zapruder before the two of them hit the road toward the National Parks of Utah and Nevada.

Berrada and Zapruder have been commisioned by Villa Albertine San Francisco to revisit Olivier Messian's piece, Des Canyons aux étoiles, through the double lens of photography and poetry.
